Bringing together eye-witness accounts, contemporary poetry and songs specially commissioned for the town of Passchendaele’s Peace Concerts, In Flanders Fields takes its name from the poem written by John McCrae who was killed near Ypres in the First War. With superb acappella singing and evocative songs, this internationally acclaimed trio hauntingly bring home the humour and courage of those who took part in the War to end all Wars. | ‘Visual and Verbal Wit - an artist looks at Tristram Shandy’ The Laurence Sterne Trust is delighted to welcome the artist Patrick Hughes to give the Sterne Lecture 2007. His exhibition A Perspective Backwards at Shandy Hall last year was a great success with all who visited the gallery and his talk will be as entertaining and enlightening as his work.
