Coxwold Railway
Coxwold station opened on 19th May 1853 and closed 7th August 1964, one hundred years later. Coxwold Station was on the Malton-Pilmoor line, the station house included a first class waiting room, other station facilities were a coal depot, warehouses and stock loading areas. The NER's best kept station competition was repeatedly won by Coxwold. Some of the garden stone was appropriated from the ruins of Byland Abbey.
