The Fauconberg Arms

The famous Inn is named after the Earl of Fauconberg, who lived at nearby Newburgh Priory, and was married to Oliver Cromwell's daughter, Mary, who, after her father's death in 1658, is believed to have brought her father's body to the Priory, and that the body is still lying there, in a bricked-up vault.

Simon, Helen, Harriet and Jonathan extend to you a warm welcome to the Fauconberg Arms - their family run 17th Century North Yorkshire Inn, additional information can be obtained from their web site.

The Pottery

Coxwold Pottery was established in 1965 by Peter and Jill Dick. Over the years they have produced a wide range of pottery. Numerous visitors to this lovely corner of North Yorkshire have become regular customers.
The inspiration for Coxwold pots comes from the work of country potters over the centuries and many of the techniques employed are the same as those used by the old craftsmen.

Please note that the pottery is only open by appointment, so anyone wanting to see Jill and Peter's work should get in touch before making a special trip to the pottery.
